Fly-tippers Trash Historic Village Near Maidstone
Callous fly-tippers have dumped a huge pile of rubbish on the outskirts of Otham, a picturesque village near Maidstone where homes average over £500,000. The village, dating back to before the Domesday Survey of 1086, is famous for its stunning 12th-century Grade I-listed St Nicholas parish church – now blighted by ugly fly-tipped waste.
Disgust as Rubbish Dumps Pile Up Overnight
Shocking images reveal the mountain of trash left on Church Lane, dumped overnight on Monday. Residents were horrified to discover the mess in their peaceful village, spoiling local walks and outdoor activities.
“This is a criminal offence, blighting our countryside,” a stunned churchgoer said. “This isn’t just a dropped crisp packet, it’s someone dodging responsibility and costing us all.”
Local Anger and Clean-Up Costs
Locals say they can no longer enjoy dog walking, horse riding, or peaceful leisure time without facing this filth. Worse, the council will foot the bill for the expensive clean-up caused by these lawbreakers.
Maidstone Council has been approached for comment on the fly-tipping fiasco.
