Armed Burglars Flee to Asda in Dagenham Before Police Nab Them
Police jumped into action at 8.36pm after reports of a gang trying to break into a home on Fullerton Avenue, Dagenham. The suspects, armed and on the run, sparked a tense chase that ended at a nearby Asda supermarket.
Armed Cops Make Swift Arrests
Met Police said armed officers were among the first on the scene. Two men were quickly arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, while two others made a dash for it. After a thorough search, the two fugitives were found inside the Asda on Whalebone Lane North.
Asda Evacuated Amid Armed Scare
The store was temporarily evacuated and shut down to assist in the police operation. Fortunately, no shots were fired, and no injuries were reported at either location.
All Suspects in Custody, Inquiries Continue
Both Asda and the Dagenham neighbourhood have since returned to normal. The supermarket reopened after the all-clear, while police hold all arrests in custody as they continue their investigation.
