Teen crashes car at Portsmouth meet – four injured, one in hospital
Emergency services rush to scene after crash
On the evening of January 28, Hampshire Roads Policing Unit and other emergency crews were called to a car gathering in Portsmouth following reports of a crash involving multiple injuries.
Young driver and four hurt in crash
The driver, just 17 years old and behind the wheel for only three weeks, lost control, sending several people hurt along the road. Four individuals suffered injuries, with one young woman seriously hurt but now stable and receiving hospital care.
Police hunt witnesses and footage
Hampshire and Isle of Wight officers have appealed for witnesses. They’re especially keen to see dashcam or mobile phone videos from the incident to help piece together what went wrong at the car meet – events where young drivers often perform risky stunts.
“Following the events that unfolded at a Car Gathering in Portsmouth, we are looking for witnesses, especially those with video footage,” said Hampshire Roads Police. “Four people are being treated for their injuries. The most serious is in a stable condition and supported by her family.”
Anyone with information or footage is urged to contact Hampshire Roads Policing Unit immediately.
