Portsmouth Great Grandfather Dies in Tragic Tower Block Fall
Emergency crews were called to Nickleby House on All Saints Road just after 4pm on Saturday following reports of a man falling from the 15th storey of the block. The victim has been named locally as Nick Sibley, a much-loved but troubled great grandfather.
Family Confirms Tragic Suicide
Nick’s daughters – Charlotte Downs, Victoria Wallace, and Emily Snelling – released a heartfelt statement amid swirling rumours. They confirmed their father took his own life, saying:
“As people are already speculating, we wanted to officially let people know. It’s with great sadness that it was in fact our dad, Nick Sibley, who took his life on Saturday in Buckland. We’re all still trying to come to terms with it and would appreciate no gossiping while we do this. We will let people know arrangements in due course.”
Hampshire Police confirmed the death was treated as non-suspicious.
