Wyvern Technology College Locked Down After Intruder Causes Chaos
Wyvern Technology College went into a full lockdown this morning after an intruder refused to leave the premises. The headmaster acted fast, keeping staff and pupils safe while police surrounded the site.
Police Arrest Man on School Grounds
Hampshire Police quickly moved in and arrested the suspect. A spokesperson said, “We always work closely with schools and colleges to ensure the safety of children and staff. The school’s response was swift and no pupils were ever at risk.”
Officers confirmed the man carried no weapon and was under close watch from the moment he arrived. The intruder is not known to the college as a student or parent. Police are continuing their investigation.
Parents Praise Fast Action and Clear Communication
Parents have lauded the college’s quick and clear email update, which explained the lockdown lasted 20 minutes while the intruder was on site. Students were kept in classrooms and PE students brought indoors as a precaution.
“Dear Parents/Guardians, the lockdown was a precaution after an intruder refused to leave. Once police arrived and made an arrest, the lockdown was lifted. Safety is our top priority.”
Security Measures to Be Boosted
The college revealed plans to improve site security in partnership with Hampshire County Council. Staff supervision is already high and they vow to remain vigilant.
With misinformation swirling on social media, the school reassured everyone that no threats were posed to pupils or staff. The 20-minute lockdown was a textbook example of quick thinking and calm under pressure.
