Tragic Crash on A20 Claims Teen Girl’s Life
Just before 11pm on Saturday, February 11, 2023, disaster struck on the A20 Gorse Hill near Farningham. A red VW Polo GTI slammed into a white Mercedes Sprinter head-on. The collision happened close to the junction with Eglantine Lane.
Teen Passenger Dies at Scene
Emergency crews, including officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene. Sadly, a female passenger in the VW – known to her family as “Darcy,” a late-teen from South East London – was pronounced dead on impact. Four other passengers from the VW were hospitalised. Two remain in hospital: one in serious but stable condition, the other stable.
Two Drivers Arrested Over Deadly Smash
Both men thought to be the drivers were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They have been bailed and are due back at the police station for questioning.
Witnesses Urgently Needed
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the enquiry. Officers urge anyone who saw the smash or has dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch immediately.
