Teenager Dies in Horror Crash on A20 Gorse Hill
Tragedy struck late Saturday night when a red VW Polo GTI smashed head-on into a white Mercedes Sprinter on the A20 near Farningham.
Crash Details
The collision happened around 10.50pm on February 11, 2023, near the junction with Eglantine Lane. The two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided.
Victim Named by Family
A female passenger in the VW, known only as “Darcy” from South East London, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was just in her late teens. Darcy’s family visited the crash site the following morning to lay flowers.
Four other passengers in the VW were hospitalised. Two remain in hospital – one in serious but stable condition, the other stable.
Arrests Made Over Fatal Crash
Police arrested two men, believed to be the drivers of the VW and the Mercedes. Both have been bailed pending further police investigations on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the probe. Officers are calling on any witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to help with the investigation.
