The recruits kicked off their careers learning the ropes. They tackled the basics of policing, evidence capture, and the essentials like pocket notebooks — all aimed at maintaining high standards from day one.

New Recruits Share Ambitions

Among the eager trainees is 25-year-old Asha Phillips, who said, “I wanted to join Kent Police because I care about my community and thrive on a job where no two days are the same. I was nervous on day one, but everyone was welcoming. I’d love to become a detective.”

Similarly, 23-year-old Viana Ilie revealed, “I love helping people and want to make a difference. My dream is to join the Serious and Organised Crime Unit.”

A Force on the Rise

Kent Police is now in year three of the national police officer uplift programme, pumping up resources to better tackle crime across the region.

Deputy Chief Officer Ian Drysdale said, “It fills me with great pride to welcome so many new recruits to this outstanding organisation. They’ll make a real difference by building relationships with communities, preventing crime, supporting victims, and keeping Kent safe. I’ll be watching their careers with great interest.”
