Urgent Appeal as Liverpool Detectives Hunt Good Samaritan in Sexual Assault Cases

Police in Liverpool have issued fresh CCTV images and are urgently seeking a Good Samaritan who helped during two sexual assaults in the city.

Two Shocking Attacks Rock Liverpool

  • December 20, Edge Hill: Around 6:30pm, a woman in her 60s was sexually assaulted on Crosfield Road. The attacker caused her to fall, but a passing driver stopped, scaring the suspect away. Thankfully, the victim was unharmed but deeply shaken.
  • December 28, Wavertree: A woman in her 40s walking her dog near Liverpool Tennis Centre was pushed to the ground and assaulted just before 7pm. She fought back, forcing the attacker to flee toward Mystery Park and later seen on Westdale Road.

CCTV Breakthrough and Plea for Witnesses

Detectives have gathered extensive CCTV and witness statements and released clearer images of a man they believe holds key information. New details have also emerged about a Good Samaritan who intervened during the first attack, potentially saving further harm.

“Such incidents are rare but we’re treating them with the utmost seriousness,” said Detective Inspector Rob Pritchard. “Both victims are understandably shaken. We’re determined to bring this perpetrator to justice.”

Police Seek Hero in Orange Hi-Vis Jacket

Investigators are appealing to a man in an orange high-visibility jacket driving a dark estate car who disrupted the December 20 assault. He chased the suspect to Durning Road where the attacker was briefly detained before fleeing on foot.

Detective Inspector Pritchard urged the man and anyone recognising the CCTV suspect to come forward. Authorities also want to speak to the Good Samaritan who helped during the first incident.
