Woman Assaulted Near Medway River Embankment
A woman was attacked late on Saturday, 8 April 2023, while walking along the River Medway embankment. She was heading from the Broadway, close to the Millennium Bridge near Whatman Park, when a man approached her around 10pm.
Suspect Flees Scene, Victim Unharmed
The man allegedly assaulted the woman before running off towards Whatman Park. Police arrived quickly, and fortunately, the victim did not need medical attention.
Police Hunt Short Man in Tracksuit
Detectives are piecing together the full story and want locals and businesses to check CCTV or doorbell camera footage from 8pm to 10:30pm for any sign of the suspect.
They are also eager to speak to a young couple the victim approached for help right after the attack.
Suspect description:
- White male, 20s
- Approximately 5ft 3in tall
- Wearing dark black or blue tracksuit with hood up
