Two Stabbed at Tattoo Studio Near Canterbury Cathedral
Armed police and paramedics swooped on GothInk Studio on Lower Bridge Street after two people were found stabbed on Monday afternoon. The emergency response included two air ambulances and two land ambulances, while Kent Police sealed off the scene.
Major Crime Team Launches Investigation
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Major Crime Team arrived at the studio in the evening. Blue and green tarpaulins were draped over the front windows as officers worked to piece together what happened.
The incident site is just yards from the iconic Canterbury Cathedral, shaking the heart of the city.
Grim Claims Emerge from Local Resident
One local on the Canterbury resident page claimed a man had killed his girlfriend before trying to take his own life. Police have not confirmed any arrests or the exact circumstances yet.
Officers were seen placing oxygen cylinders, emergency first aid kits, and drug supplies from the South East Coast Ambulance Service outside the studio as part of their ongoing investigation.
Police Confirm Incident, Road Remains Closed
Kent Police said: “We are currently attending premises in Lower Bridge Street, Canterbury, following a report of two people found with injuries. Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to the scene at around 5.20pm on Monday 11 April 2022. The road remains closed between St George’s roundabout and Burgate while enquiries continue to establish the circumstances of the incident.”
