Bus Driver Assaulted at Newport Station – Man Held by Police
Shock Attack on Bus Driver
A man was arrested after a woman bus driver was allegedly assaulted at Newport Bus Station just after 4pm on Tuesday. The victim, reported to work for Southern Vectis, was left visibly shaken by the incident.
Suspect in Custody
Police attended the scene promptly and arrested a man on suspicion of assault. He remains in custody at Newport Police Station as inquiries continue.
Police Probe Underway
Hampshire Constabulary has been contacted for comment but have yet to release a statement.
