Man Arrested After Tragic Child Death in Folkestone Crash

A 49-year-old man has been arrested following a fatal collision that killed a seven-year-old boy in Folkestone. The heartbreaking incident took place at around 5.35pm on Wednesday 6 December 2023, on the A259 Sandgate Esplanade near Prospect Road.

Hit-and-Run Horror

The crash involved two vehicles. One car fled the scene before emergency services arrived. Despite efforts from police and ambulance crews, the young boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up

At approximately 5.15pm on Thursday 7 December, police arrested a 49-year-old man from Dymchurch and took him into custody. The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for anyone who saw the crash or the vehicles involved before the collision to get in touch.
