Double Stabbing Shocks Quiet Whitton Street

A man has been arrested after a man and woman were fatally stabbed in their Whitton home. Police were called to Redfern Avenue at 9.40am on Friday, 12 July.

Tragic Scene in Redfern Avenue

Officers and London Ambulance Service rushed to the property, where they found a man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s fatally stabbed inside. Post-mortems are scheduled, and while formal identification is pending, police believe they know who the victims are. Family liaison officers are supporting the grieving relatives.

Murder Suspect Nabbed in Slough

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in Slough around 3pm the same day. He is now being transferred to a London police station. Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation, with the crime scene still preserved as enquiries continue.

Police Reassure Community

Chief Superintendent Sally Benatar, head of the Met’s South West Command Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the two victims. “I want to reassure members of the community that this was an isolated incident. Having arrested a man this afternoon, we are not looking for anybody else in connection with the two deaths. “I would like to express my thanks to emergency services colleagues, including Thames Valley Police who have supported our response to this incident.”
