Police have swooped on a man after two burglaries rocked Chandler’s Ford in the early hours of June 16.
Burglars Spooked by Local Hero
At 2.25am, two men tried to break into a shop on Winchester Road but were scared off by a quick-thinking member of the public. Minutes later, a second attempt targeted a business in The Mall, just off Winchester Road.
Smash and Grab Foiled?
Thieves smashed the glass door at the second premises, but it’s unclear if they got inside or stole anything. Officers rushed to the scene and found a man matching the witness’s description nearby.
Suspect in Custody
A 36-year-old Southampton man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in police custody.
