Man Arrested for Shocking Masturbation Incident on Northern Line
A 24-year-old man from Sutton was arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency over a disturbing incident on a Northern line train last August.

The British Transport Police (BTP) swooped on February 26 at Stratford station after launching an investigation into an alleged indecent act on August 22, 2024. Around 11.40pm, the suspect reportedly sat opposite a woman on a northbound Northern line train travelling between Balham and Old Street stations. He then allegedly began masturbating, staring directly at the terrified victim.
Police Appeal and Ongoing Investigation
Following the incident, BTP released CCTV images of the man, urging anyone with information to come forward. A BTP spokesperson said:
“All reports of sexual assault are taken seriously, and any information provided can help build a bigger picture.”
The arrested man remains under investigation while officers continue to gather evidence. The force has appealed for witnesses or anyone with similar experiences to step forward, which could prove crucial.
