42-Year-Old Nabbed After Arriving from France

A 42-year-old man was arrested by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command in Folkestone just after midnight on Tuesday, May 1. He was caught as he stepped off a coach arriving from France, with officers suspecting terrorism offences.

The suspect was arrested under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. The probe is connected to activities linked to the Syrian conflict.

Held in Custody in Kent

After being detained under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE), the man was taken to a Kent police station. He remains in custody as inquiries continue.
