56-Year-Old Man Busted in Major Lancashire Fly-Tipping Crackdown
A 56-year-old man has been arrested after a massive operation targeting illegal waste dumping in Lancashire.
Heavy Hitters Join Forces to Nab Suspect
On Saturday 6 December, the Joint Unit for Waste Crime (JUWC), Lancashire Police’s south rural taskforce, and the National Crime Agency launched a day-long blitz. They caught the man linked to multiple large-scale fly-tipping sites blocking roadsides and lay-bys across the region.
The vehicle believed to have been used in the dumping has been seized as evidence.
Wider Investigation Targets Dumpers Across the North West
Authorities are now probing similar waste dumping across Lancashire, Cheshire, and Merseyside. Officials urge the public to come forward with any tips to help crush this growing environmental menace.
Joint Unit Boss Demands Public’s Help
“This operation shows what happens when agencies team up to tackle crime head-on,” said Phil Davies, Joint Unit for Waste Crime manager. “Together, we’re stronger in protecting communities and our environment.”
“If you have information about illegal dumping, report it to the Environment Agency incident hotline. Let’s stop the waste criminals in their tracks.”
