Neighbour’s scream alert sparks emergency rush

Neighbours raised the alarm after hearing the victim scream that he’d been attacked near the rear of the High Street. Paramedics and police stormed the area, while firefighters with specialist chemical detection gear from Hampshire Fire and Rescue’s DIM unit moved in to identify the liquid involved.

Details of the brutal assault emerge

Police confirm a 47-year-old man was assaulted at around 4am while leaving his home on the High Street. The attack involved two men, who threw an unknown liquid in his face.

The victim’s description of the suspects is detailed:

  • Man 1: Tanned, 5ft 7in, medium build, dark hair, early 20s, wearing a blue/black tracksuit with QPR emblem on the left shoulder, white trainers, ring on wedding finger.
