Man Fighting for Life After Late-Night East London Shooting
A 37-year-old man is in a critical condition after being shot in Crossway, East London, late on Friday night. Police have launched a major investigation into the shocking incident.
Gunfire Rocks Crossway
The Metropolitan Police were called at 10:53pm on Friday, June 20, following reports of gunfire on the street. Firearms officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene and found the victim with serious gunshot wounds.
Victim in Life-Threatening Condition
The man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition, police confirmed on Saturday. No arrests have been made so far.
Emergency crews closed roads while securing the area and carrying out first enquiries. These closures have now been lifted, but the crime scene remains active as detectives probe the case.
Investigation in Full Swing
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the search for answers. Local officers have stepped up patrols to reassure the community following the shooting.
The motive remains unclear, and police are urging anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or has CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
“If you saw anything suspicious in or around Crossway at the time of the incident, or if you have footage that may help our investigation, we urge you to speak with us,” a Met Police spokesperson said.
