Watch Snatch Shock in Basingstoke: Thief Targets £4,500 Timepiece

Police are hunting a brazen thief after a man was robbed in broad daylight in Basingstoke last Friday morning.

Thief Targets Victim at Busy Roundabout

The victim was sitting in his white Audi R8 at around 8.45am near the mini roundabout where Cufaude Lane, Hanmore Road, and Crockford Lane meet. A moped, ridden by a young man, pulled up on the right and casually asked for the time.

When the victim politely showed the time by holding out his arm, the moped rider snatched a luxury Tag Heuer Calibre 16 watch worth around £4,500 straight off his wrist.

Fight Breaks Out Before Suspect Flees

The victim pushed the thief, causing him to fall off the moped. A brief scuffle followed before both men went their separate ways.

The suspect sped off on his moped, last seen heading towards Hanmore Road, then turning onto Thornhill Way and a nearby footpath.

Police Seek Witnesses to Watch Theft
