Man in His 40s Shot Dead in Broad Daylight Outside Costco
A murder investigation is underway after a man in his 40s was gunned down in broad daylight near the Costco store on Imperial Way on Thursday evening.
Shocking Daylight Killing Near Costco
Police were called to Imperial Way at 5:04pm on 19 June following reports of gunfire. Emergency services, including paramedics from the Ambulance Service, arrived to find the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite frantic efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Murder Investigation Launched
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command has taken over the case, led by Detective Chief Inspector Dan Whitten.
“This was a tragic incident and my thoughts are with the man’s family at this difficult time,” said DCI Whitten. “Our team of specially trained officers are supporting them as our investigation progresses. Our enquiries are ongoing and we would urge any witnesses to come forward and share information with us.”
The shooting has left shoppers and locals reeling. A lorry driver at the scene described the terrifying moment the victim tried to run across the Costco car park before being shot in front of onlookers.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the shooting or has mobile phone, dashcam, or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the attack to come forward.
