Heartbreaking stabbing in Clapton sparks murder probe
Police launched a murder investigation after a fatal stabbing inside a home on Mount Pleasant Lane, Clapton late Friday night.
Mother watches son die in harrowing footage
The victim’s mother, who has bravely allowed a pixelated video to be released, shared the anguish of watching her son fatally stabbed. In the footage, she cries out desperately as a man tries to save her son’s life. The tragic incident unfolded just after 11.30pm on 24 January.
Man found stabbed, dies at the scene
Officers and London Ambulance Service rushed to the property where they found a man with stab wounds. Despite frantic efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Suspect arrested — murder detectives on case
A 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at a north London police station. The Met’s Specialist Crime Command homicide team are leading the probe.
Police appeal for information
Enquiries to ID the victim and notify family are ongoing. A post-mortem is planned. So far, no other suspects are sought. Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC, quoting CAD9064/24Jan.
