Violent Assault Near Pizza Hut in Southampton: Man Injured

Police are hunting witnesses after a 21-year-old man was attacked near Pizza Hut in Southampton’s Bitterne Road precinct last Friday morning.

Heated Row Spirals Into Violence

The victim was walking with a friend between 10am and midday on May 27 when two men confronted them. A verbal row broke out in public before the two suspects assaulted the man, leaving him with injuries to his head and face.

Suspects Fled Towards Leisure Centre

The attackers ran off towards Bitterne Leisure Centre after the assault. Police believe passers-by in the busy precinct that morning will have seen the incident.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers describe the suspects as:

  • Man 1: White, early 20s, slim, 6ft tall, short shaved hair, white t-shirt, grey tracksuit bottoms
  • Man 2: White, early 20s, slim, 5ft 5in, short shaved hair, dark blue Nike jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms

“This assault took place on a busy Friday morning. A public verbal dispute happened first, so we’re certain someone witnessed this.”
