Manhunt Underway After Shocking Acid Attack in East London
A 20-year-old man was rushed to hospital after a brutal acid attack on a busy East London high street.
Victim Attacked During Moped Robbery
The victim was robbed of his moped on Mentmore Terrace, near London Fields station, at noon on Saturday. The robbery quickly escalated into a violent fight. First, the attacker threatened the victim with a knife.
Noxious Substance Thrown in Face
But the horror didn’t stop there. The assailant then threw a noxious substance in the young man’s face, causing serious injury.
Police Launch Manhunt, No Arrests Yet
Metropolitan Police and paramedics rushed to the scene. The victim was taken straight to an East London hospital for treatment.
Soon after, officers found the stolen moped abandoned nearby. No arrests have been made yet, but police say inquiries are ongoing.
