Suspects Flee Wiltshire After Savage Plymouth Acid Attack

A nationwide manhunt is underway after two men believed responsible for a horrific acid attack in Plymouth vanished from Wiltshire. Devon and Cornwall Police, teaming up with the National Crime Agency (NCA), have expanded their search far beyond county lines.

Brutal Home Invasion Shock

The shocking assault happened in the early hours of Friday, February 21, when two men forced their way into a Plymouth home and doused a man in his 20s with acid. The victim suffered severe injuries and remains in hospital in a serious condition.

“It was a brutal and terrifying attack on a man who remains in a very serious condition. His family are continuing to be supported by our specialist officers,” said Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft.

Police say this was a targeted strike tied to organised crime, raising the stakes in their hunt for the suspects.

Suspects Last Seen in Wiltshire – Now Believed Elsewhere

The two men, both Black and in their early 20s, were spotted in Grittleton near Chippenham shortly after the attack. Local reports claim a villager unwittingly gave them a lift to Chippenham railway station, where they may have caught a train out.

However, Devon and Cornwall Police have now ruled out Wiltshire as their refuge.

“Our enquiries have taken us further afield and we can confirm we no longer believe the suspects are in Wiltshire,” confirmed Det Supt Bancroft.

“We are pursuing both national and international leads to bring those responsible to justice.”

The National Crime Agency has joined the probe, combing through CCTV and forensic evidence in this large-scale investigation.

Police Urge Public to Help Track Down Attackers

Authorities are calling on the public to stay alert and share any CCTV, dashcam, or other footage that could help find the suspects.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or report via the Devon and Cornwall Police website, quoting log 69 of February 21.

False Claims About Additional Victim Debunked

Police have slammed false social media rumours that a 14-year-old girl was also injured, stressing the reports are completely inaccurate.

“We have seen much speculation online about the alleged suspects and the circumstances of the incident, which are untrue,” stated a police spokesperson.

“We urge the public to rely on official sources for the facts surrounding this incident.”
