Mystery Death in Limehouse: Police Seek Witnesses

Detectives in Tower Hamlets are hunting for witnesses after a man’s body was found in Regent’s Canal, Limehouse.

Police were called at 7.11am on Wednesday, 11 October following reports of a body in the water near Rhodeswell Road, Limehouse, E14. The victim has been named as Ali Liaquat, 55, a local resident.

No Signs of Foul Play – But Questions Remain

Ali’s next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem revealed no injuries that could explain his death. Although police do not suspect foul play, they are investigating how Ali ended up in the canal and pursuing several lines of inquiry.

Police Urge Locals to Come Forward

Officers from the Central East Command Unit want to hear from anyone who saw Ali before he died, particularly around Turners Road and Rhodeswell Road.
