Missing Teen Julia Skala Found Safe After 11 Days

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that 16-year-old Julia Skala, missing for over a week, has been found safe and well. Julia vanished from her home in Mitcham, south-west London, on January 8 around 1pm and was reported missing the next morning.

Extensive Police Hunt Brings Relief

Officers launched a full-scale search, scouring CCTV footage and following every lead to track down the teenager. The hunt was urgent, especially given the bitterly cold weather and concerns over Julia’s wellbeing with limited resources.

Police Praise Team Effort and Family Reunification

“For 11 days, we have worked around the clock to locate Julia,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Clair Kelland, lead for Merton policing. “As time passed, our concern grew, especially given the extreme cold and her lack of resources. I’m pleased to report she is safe and well and will be reunited with her family. This is the outcome we all hoped for.”

The Met has kept details of Julia’s disappearance and discovery under wraps, focusing now solely on her recovery and reunion with loved ones after a tense 11-day ordeal.
