Motorcycle owners in Folkestone are on high alert after a sharp rise in thefts from residential areas over the past two weeks. Kent Police are investigating six recent incidents, urging bikers to beef up their security.

Kent Police confirmed at least six cases of motorcycle theft and attempted theft are being probed. The latest hit happened overnight on Broadmead Road, where a black Suzuki was stolen. Officers discovered drag marks leading away from the scene and a discarded bike cover nearby.

Inspector Carlo Capozzi from Folkestone’s Community Safety Unit issued a stark warning:

“Following reports of motorcycle thefts in Folkestone, we urge owners to take extra steps to protect their bikes.”

“Residents can safeguard their motorcycles by using a disc lock, fitting a tracker, and securing their bike to something immovable. Wherever possible, park in well-lit, busy spots monitored by CCTV.”

“If you see anything suspicious, don’t hesitate to report it to us.”
