Fatal Stabbing Shocks South London Near Strawberry Hill Station

A murder probe is underway after a deadly stabbing ripped through South London on the night of Monday, January 8. A man in his twenties was fatally stabbed close to Strawberry Hill railway station. Another victim, a 16-year-old boy, was slashed in the leg nearby but survived.

Police Launch Murder Investigation, Four Arrested

The British Transport Police responded to an emergency call at 11:53pm reporting an injured man at Strawberry Hill station. Joined by Metropolitan Police officers and London Ambulance Service medics, they found the young man with a serious stab wound. Despite rapid emergency treatment, he died at the scene.

Just six minutes later, the teen victim was found near Alexander Close. Police quickly opened a murder investigation and have arrested four men connected to the attacks. All suspects remain in custody as of Tuesday morning, January 9.

Train Chaos as Strawberry Hill Station Shuts Down

South Western Railway announced the closure of Strawberry Hill station and suspension of all lines between Twickenham and an undisclosed station while police manage the crime scene.

A South Western Rail spokesperson said: “The police are dealing with an incident between Twickenham and [station]. All lines are blocked. The area is under Metropolitan Police control, and no trains will run between these stations until further notice. Strawberry Hill is closed with no train service.”

Commuters face disruption with multiple train cancellations and are advised to use Clapham Junction to reroute journeys.
