Murder Shock in Sheffield: Man Found Dead with Stab Wounds
A murder probe is underway after a man was found dead in Sheffield during the early hours of Sunday, 16 March 2025. South Yorkshire Police were called to a property on Barlow Drive at around 3 a.m. following reports of a man with stab wounds.
Despite emergency crews’ best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have alerted his family, who are receiving support from trained officers. A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Officers set up two cordons—one on Barlow Drive and another at Rivelin Valley Road near Roscoe Plantation Allotments—as they dig into the disturbing incident. Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Hodgman, leading the inquiry, said:
“We understand this incident will be alarming for the local community. Our team of detectives is working tirelessly to uncover what happened in the early hours of this morning.”
She added that local neighbourhood policing teams will boost patrols in the area over the coming days to support residents and answer their concerns.
