Murder Probe Launched After Man Dies in Oxford Street Brawl
Police have opened a murder investigation after a man died following a violent altercation on Oxford’s Cowley Road.
Man Dies from Head Injuries After Clash
Officers were called on Thursday, July 18, after reports of a fight between two men. The victim, aged 57, was found with serious head injuries and rushed to hospital. Sadly, he passed away on Saturday afternoon (July 20).
Suspect Arrested and in Custody
A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody as detectives continue their inquiries.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“We are carrying out a thorough investigation into this incident, which has tragically resulted in a man losing his life,” said Detective Inspector Mike Roddy of Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit.
He added: “We believe this to be an isolated incident, and officers have made an arrest. The public might notice increased police presence in the area as our investigation continues.”
