Police Officer Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash in Newmarket

Early this morning, a female police officer was struck by a car that sped off without stopping in Newmarket. The hit-and-run happened on The Avenue just after 2:45 am on Sunday, 12 November.

Officer Injured but Stable

The officer was on foot when the vehicle hit her and drove off. She was rushed to hospital with injuries, but thankfully they’re not life-threatening or life-changing.

Police Hunt Light-Coloured Car and Key Witnesses

Investigators say the car was light-coloured and came from High Street onto The Avenue at the time of the crash. Police are urgently calling for witnesses, especially three pedestrians spotted nearby who might hold vital information.

Dashcam Drivers, Speak Up!

Motorists driving in the area are urged to check their dashcam footage. Any evidence could help crack the case.
