Armed police from Hampshire Constabulary have locked down a property in Pallance Road, Northwood, after a man threatened officers during a tense standoff this afternoon.

The drama began just after 12:30pm when officers were called to the scene. A man in his 20s is reportedly perched on the roof armed with a piece of wood. He has threatened to “do” the police and refuses to come down.
The 20-something is believed to be suffering from mental health issues. Island doctors were expected to attend but did not show up, complicating the situation.
