Damage Hits Pedestrian Gate by Famous Railway
On the evening of Sunday 16 July 2023, a pedestrian gate at a level crossing near the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway was deliberately damaged. The gate sits on a footpath linking Dunes Road in Greatstone with Church Lane in New Romney.
Police Seek Three Teenage Boys Spotted Nearby
Kent Police are investigating the vandalism and urgently want to track down three teenage boys seen in the area at the time. The suspects are described as white, about 15 years old, and roughly 5 ft 4 ins tall.
- One wore a black sweatshirt, black shorts, white shoes, and had brown hair.
- The second wore a grey and black jacket with the hood up, black jogging bottoms, white trainers, and carried a small black cross-body bag.
- The third dressed all in black – jacket, trousers, and footwear.
