Terrifying Assault on Trans Pennine Trail – Police Hunt Three Witnesses
In the early hours of Friday, 22 April, a 19-year-old woman was brutally raped by an unknown man on the Trans Pennine Trail, near Bradberry Balk Lane. The attacker is described as a white male, possibly in his 20s.
Victim Left Distressed as Police Launch Hunt
PC Dan Morley, leading the investigation, said: “This was an extremely concerning incident and the young woman involved has been left very distressed. She is being supported by specially trained officers and an investigation is underway to trace the suspect.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Detectives are keen to identify three individuals who spoke to the victim near the 1 store on Bradberry Balk Lane before the attack. They include a woman and two men seen walking two large dogs.
“I’d urge these individuals to get in touch as we believe they may greatly assist us with our enquiries,” PC Morley added.
