House Blaze in Sheffield Suspected Arson Leaves Two Seriously Injured

Police raced to Wordsworth Avenue, Sheffield just before 9pm on Tuesday, 21 March, after reports of a house fire. Emergency teams quickly extinguished the flames, but investigations suggest the fire was started deliberately.

Four Hospitalised Following Deliberate Fire

Four people were inside the house when the fire broke out. A 47-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man remain in serious condition in hospital. A 17-year-old girl has been discharged, while a six-year-old girl is still being treated for minor injuries.

Police Hunt Suspects, Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Inspector Rich Armstrong said: “We suspect this was a targeted attack. We understand the community’s concerns and are committed to finding those responsible. If you saw anything, please come forward.”

“Extra police officers are patrolling the area tonight. You can speak to them directly or contact us via 101 or online.”
