Serious Crash on Dorset Road Leaves Cyclist in Critical Condition
Dorset Police rushed to the scene after a collision between a silver Renault Clio and a cyclist on the B3081 near Alderholt on Monday evening.
Cyclist in Life-Threatening Condition
The crash happened around 8.30pm on 29 March 2021. Emergency services quickly arrived, treating a man in his 50s from Ringwood, Hampshire. He was taken to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a man in his 30s from Hampshire, was unhurt but arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving offences. He is currently helping police with their investigation.
Road Closure and Ongoing Investigation
The B3081 was closed for several hours while emergency crews worked and police conducted a detailed scene examination.
Police Sergeant Lee Savage of the traffic unit said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I am appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.”
“Motorists with dashcams who were in the area are urged to check their footage for anything that might help our investigation.”
“Thank you to drivers for their patience during the necessary road closure, which allowed emergency crews to work safely.”
