Spitting Scandal on Wembley Bus Sparks Police Hunt
A shocking attack unfolded on a route 83 bus near Wembley Stadium just before 11pm on Friday, 16 April.
Mask Refusal Sparks Drama
A man boarded the bus without a mask and ignored the driver’s challenge. Although he promised to put one on, he sat upstairs mask-free. When the bus stopped at Lakeside Way on Empire Way, the driver warned him: wear a mask or get off.
Shocking Spit Attack
The passenger stepped off the bus, stormed to the front, then spat directly at the driver. The saliva hit the glass of the front door. The driver later reported the disgusting assault to police.
Police Urge Public for Help
Officers are now releasing an image of the suspect, hoping someone will recognise him.
PC Matt Cannon, Met Police Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: “Bus drivers have risked their health throughout the pandemic, serving key workers and the public. Assaults on them are unacceptable – but spitting during Covid-19 is especially vile.”
“We’ve tried other leads but haven’t found him yet. We’re counting on the public to help us track him down.”
