Tragic High-Speed Police Chase Ends in Deadly Crash
At around 2.20am on Monday, March 20, chaos erupted on Commercial Road, E3, when a motorcycle carrying two riders smashed into railings during a police pursuit.
Chase Ends in Fatal Collision
The motorbike had failed to stop for police, prompting a high-speed chase. The crash proved devastating. Despite frantic efforts from officers and paramedics, a 30-year-old man was declared dead at the scene.
One Rider Survives, Injured But Stable
The second rider, a 29-year-old man, was rushed to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening.
Independent Investigation Underway
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. An independent probe into the tragic incident is now underway.
Officers are currently waiting to confirm that the deceased man’s family has been informed.
