Shock Collision in Southampton: Elderly Pedestrian Hurt by Double-Decker Bus

Police are hunting for witnesses after an 88-year-old man was hit by a double-decker bus in busy Southampton.

Crash Rocks Busy Junction

The smash happened around 9.30am on Friday, October 21, at the junction of High Street and Park Road. The pensioner was crossing the road when a First bus struck him.

Victim Seriously Injured

The elderly man suffered serious leg injuries and is now being treated at Southampton General Hospital.

Police Call for Witnesses

PC Carl Osman said: “I’m appealing for anyone who saw the collision between a First bus and the pedestrian to come forward. It was a busy time of day, so many people must have seen something.”

He urged drivers with dashcam footage from the area to step up. “Your information could be vital to our investigation.”
