Police Hunt Couple After Failed Southampton Flat Break-In
Officers have released CCTV images of two people they want to question after a burglary attempt at a Southampton block of flats.
Burglary Attempt in Early Hours
Shortly after 2.40am on Friday, January 13, a suspected burglar tried to break into flats on St Mary Street. CCTV shows a man prising open a rear window before attempting to climb inside. He fled when disturbed, escaping with a woman who had been nearby.
Who Are They?
- Man: White, tall, slim to medium build, with receding hair and a thin beard. Wearing a tracksuit.
- Woman: Wearing a tracksuit with the hood up.
Police want to identify this pair, believing they hold vital clues to the investigation.
Taxi Driver & Witness Appeal
Officers are also keen to track down a taxi driver who passed through the area at the time. They believe this driver, and anyone who saw the suspicious pair, could help crack the case.
“Did you see anything strange in St Mary Street around 2.40am? Or a man and woman acting suspiciously?” said PC Amanda Shearsby. “If so, please get in touch. Even if you recognise the clothing or think you might be in the CCTV, we want to hear from you.”
