Man in 50s Dies After Ford Mondeo Hit on Ballam Road

Tragedy struck Ballam Road on Thursday night when a man in his 50s was fatally hit by a Ford Mondeo. Police were called around 9pm following the collision.

Serious Crash Shuts Road for Six Hours

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed. The road stayed closed for six hours while officers conducted a full investigation.

Police Seek Witnesses and Footage

Sgt Martin Wilcock of Tac Ops said: “This collision has very sadly resulted in a man losing his life and my thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision itself or the victim in the moments before the collision to get in touch. I would especially like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage.”

Red Peugeot Debris Mystery

Officers also spotted debris from a red Peugeot at the scene. Although CCTV suggests the car wasn’t involved, police want to identify its origin and why it was nearby.
