Woman Found Dead in Preston Home – Man Arrested on Murder Suspicion
Tragedy struck in Fulwood on Sunday afternoon when Sarah Ashcroft, 43, was found unresponsive inside her Sharoe Green Lane home. Emergency services rushed to the scene just before 2pm but sadly, Sarah was pronounced dead. Her death is currently being treated as unexplained.
Man Held as Police Launch Murder Probe
A 44-year-old Preston man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Detectives from the Major Investigation Team are piecing together the circumstances surrounding Sarah’s sudden death.
Family Supported Amid Heartbreak
Sarah’s family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained family liaison officers. Detective Chief Inspector Mark Haworth-Oates expressed his condolences, saying:
“My thoughts are with Sarah’s family at this time. We continue to offer them the full support of family liaison officers.”
Police Appeal for Information
A Home Office post-mortem found the cause of death inconclusive so far. Police are urging anyone who spotted suspicious activity near Sharoe Green Lane over the weekend, or who knows Sarah, to come forward.
“Even if you think the information is unimportant, please speak to us. It could be vital to understanding what happened and helping Sarah’s family find answers,” said Det Chief Insp Haworth-Oates.
