Hit-and-Run Horror: Boy on Scooter Injured by Ocado Van in Shocking Smash

A 12-year-old boy was left battered after a hit-and-run on Manchester Road last Saturday at around 2.20pm. Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of a collision between a purple Ocado van and the young scooter rider.

Boy Injured, Van Driver Flees

The lad suffered injuries to his right leg and was taken to hospital as a precaution, where he stayed overnight.

The driver of the Ocado van failed to stop and raced off. Police are hunting the van and its driver, urged by witness reports describing the culprit as a white man, aged 40-50, with short dark or grey hair.
