Body of Mystery Woman Found on Eastbourne Beach
Police are urgently seeking help identifying a woman found dead on Eastbourne beach early Tuesday morning.
The body was discovered at 7.47am on January 14, near the groyne just in front of the Beach Deck Restaurant on Royal Parade, close to Treasure Island.
No Suspicious Circumstances, Cause Unknown
Sussex Police and HM Coastguard attended the scene. So far, no suspicious circumstances have been reported. It remains a mystery how the woman ended up in the water.
Description of the Woman and What She Was Wearing
- Age: Estimated 60-70 years old
- Height: About 5 feet tall, petite build
- Hair: Short white hair
- Clothing details:
- Dark grey Mountain Warehouse hiking trousers, size 6
- Brown fleece-like under trousers
- Beige vest top
- Yellow vest top with three small patterns on each side below the strap
- Beige H&M long-sleeved vest
- Thin black Under Armour long-sleeved hooded top
- Grey Columbia fleece
- Dark blue Mountain Warehouse jacket
- Shoes: Purple and grey Merrell walking shoe, size 6, found nearby and possibly linked to her

Anyone with information about the woman’s identity is urged to contact Sussex Police online or call 101. Quote serial 154 of 14/01 when reporting.
