Two Skateboarders Hailed Heroes in Oxford Street Stabbing
Detectives are hunting two brave members of the public after a fatal stabbing on Oxford Street. The pair stepped in to stop the attacker, but vanished before police arrived.
60-Year-Old Man Dies After Brutal Attack
The victim, a 60-year-old man, was stabbed just before 8pm on Thursday, 1 July. He later died from his injuries.
Tedi Fanta Hagos, 25, from Ravenhill, Swansea, has been charged with murder.
Skateboarders Use Boards to Tackle Killer
The two men, believed to be skateboarders, courageously intervened. One even used his skateboard to subdue Hagos, allowing him to be held until police arrived.
Thankfully, neither of the heroic skateboarders were hurt during the incident.
Detectives Urge Skateboarders to Come Forward
Detective Chief Inspector Vicky Tunstall praised their bravery: “They showed great courage and potentially stopped further attacks. Their use of force was reasonable and justified. We want to speak to them as key witnesses.”
The pair left before police questioned them, so their identities remain unknown. Their vital role was only uncovered after reviewing CCTV and video footage.
