Shock assault in Woolwich: Man fighting for life after brutal attack

Police are hunting witnesses after a 35-year-old man was viciously assaulted in Woolwich in the early hours of Sunday, 17 March.

The incident unfolded around 3.25am near the bus stop outside Woolwich Library on Wellington Street, SE18. London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene. The victim was taken to hospital and remains in critical condition.

Suspect description released – police urge witnesses to come forward

Officers describe the suspect as a Black man, about 5ft 10in tall, wearing dark clothing. Police want anyone who was near the bus stop that morning, saw the attack, or knows anything to contact them immediately.
