Man in his 50s Brutally Attacked with Glass Bottle in Southampton

Violent Late-Night Assault Shocks City Centre

Just after 11pm on Wednesday (2 March), a man in his 50s was viciously attacked by a trio wielding a broken glass bottle on Lower Bannister Street.

Police recovered the shattered bottle at the scene. The victim suffered serious injuries, including a fractured skull and a brain bleed.

Suspects Described: Three White Men in Their 20s

  • One man: White, around 6ft tall, stocky build
  • Two men: White, slim build

All three suspects are believed to have been at the Yates pub on Above Bar Street before the attack. The victim had also attended the Southampton vs West Ham United football match that day, police confirmed.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

“If you have any information that can help us identify these three men, please contact us,” said Rebecca Stevens from Western Investigations.
