Gun Threat and Assault Shakes Busy East London Eatery

Chaos erupted around 11.10pm on Saturday, 5 June at a restaurant in Pan Peninsula Square, E14. Three men barged in and targeted three women inside.

Gun Wielded but Not Fired – Two Women Attacked

One of the suspects whipped out a handgun and aimed it at one woman. Fortunately, the gun was not fired. However, two of the women were assaulted before the attackers bolted toward South Quay DLR station.

Detective Sergeant Richard Bunce from Central East CID slammed the “shocking incident” that left victims traumatised despite no serious injuries.

“These men showed no regard for the safety of anyone inside the venue and they need to be apprehended,” he stressed.

Police urge anyone who saw what happened or has footage to call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 8335/5Jun. For anonymous tips, contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

No arrests have been made yet as enquiries continue.
